To whom it may concern:When we visited the Garrett Homes/Pacific Lifestyle Homes Design Center in Vancouver, WA, my wife and I had no idea what to expect except we were going to be picking out custom items/textures/colors to complete our upcoming home presently under construction. Karen King met us with a smile and immediately put us at ease. She was knowledgeable, prepared, organized and had an excellent plan to orchestrate our review of the myriad of items being offered. Ms King controlled the activity by discussing each room of our new home, one at a time, starting with the floor coverings and moving on to specific fixtures, styles, and color selections. What we thought was going to take about 6-hours over two days, we actually completed in about three and a half hours to our complete satisfaction. When we were about to depart, Ms King provided us a printout of our selections in detail including notes she took where we had questions. Ms King is the best in her field to work with! When I first walked into Pacific Lifestyle Home’s model at Fisher’s Hollow, I immediately felt I could be happy in such a strikingly put together home. Little did I know that my husband and I would later be making personal selections with Karen King, the talented designer of that model home. Karen makes the whole design selection process so successful by carefully listening to what you prefer and need, while also deftly displaying options that you can consider and get creative with. I was totally confident in her expertise. If, while working with her, you’re kind of wavering on choosing something, ask her if she would choose it. If she says, “In a heartbeat!” – go for it. Initially, I thought that the look of our home would lean in kind of a different direction. However, our end result gives a wonderful nod to that model home that I like so much. Along with the rest of our overall selections, we were able to incorporate a good part of the gorgeous model kitchen. We used the wonderful tile, chimney hood, hardware, quartz countertops and plumbing fixtures of the model, all of which combine to be a large part of what makes such an impact in that beautiful home Karen designed. After years of waiting my husband and I were ready to begin our remodel. We had a general idea of what we liked and what we envisioned but were blown away by how quickly these concepts materialized when we met Rick at MacAdam Floor and Design. Honestly, we came in just for flooring and were delighted to discover their free Design services. Rick was AWESOME! He listened to our descriptions of what we were envisioning and deftly began pulling materials to choose from-hardwood flooring, carpet, tile, countertop materials that were spot on. Before we knew it nearly all the materials we needed were before us! He helped us sort our price points and NEVER (not once!) attempted to up sale us. Fast forward-Caine, the master coordinator! Caine did all of our measurements and coordinated sequencing and scheduling for all of the installers. Each provider we worked with was great. The flooring and countertop install crews were particularly fantastic! They all arrived on time, worked independently the entire time, stayed until the job was complete (past 6!) and left our home clean. We had a few minor glitches that Caine resolved the same day or within 24 hours. Rick and Caine were incredibly responsive throughout-I’m even embarrassed to admit I texted early in the morning thinking they’d get the message and respond later. But they responded right then! The quality of the materials selected have elevated the comfort and value of our home. From beginning to end – Macadam Flooring was a class act. We had visited several other carpet stores before we found Macadam, but the difference was immediately apparent. We were greeted at the showroom door, made to feel welcome, and quickly introduced to Rick – the friendly guy with all the answers to our seemingly endless carpet questions. He directed us to the type of carpet we were interested in, explaining our options and the various characteristics of the carpet and padding. He educated us on the installation procedure for our two spiral staircases, each of which required a different installation technique and different style and thickness of carpet. He exercised flexibility and found solutions when challenges arose, and kept us informed every step of the way. Both he and other Macadam staff were very responsive to all communications via texts, emails, and phone calls. All commitments (carpet samples mailed, measurement appointment, carpet in-warehouse delivery schedule, installation dates, furniture moving, and actual install) were met on time and handled professionally. Rick, I’m glad I chose Macadam Carpet for new flooring this spring.  As I mentioned to you earlier, my 24-year-old carpet was also purchased at Macadam and has held up well over the years, so it seemed the right place to go. While I looked first at Home Depot, your selection of hardwood is much more extensive, and I found bamboo flooring for the family room that was exactly what I was looking for.  The finished effect is really nice, and I’m also enjoying my new carpet.  Your assurance that it’s completely stainproof is a plus, although I hope not to have to put it to the test any time soon. I appreciated your providing me with all the details I needed to decide on a purchase within my budget.  Thank you especially for your patience, as it usually takes me longer than most to make a decision. We used Macadam Floors once again for new kitchen and bathroom floors and new countertops in 3 bathrooms.  Rick did a great job working with me, I like to make decisions quickly and he helped me pick out samples in a manner that worked well for me. The floor installer was really friendly and nice and did a fantastic job.  We used the new Armstrong tile flooring which has a tile appearance. The counter installers also were professional and very friendly and our counters look great.

As a designer for one of Portland’s elite home builders, I have had the privilege of working with Macadam Floor and Design for a number of years. They exemplify how a flooring entity should provide service for their clients.Extensive product knowledge is one reason Macadam shines. Every Tuesday morning the entire staff meet together and learn about the various products they are offering in their showroom. This translates to me as the designer making better selections. I stress little because, though it was a very small job – 10×12′ – you attended to us and our needs as if it were 5000 sq ‘! Zac, it was such a pleasure working with you. You were courteous, informative and thorough in your guidance through the considerable range of quality products that your company offers. But also so prompt in your service. Because we were in the midst of other projects on the home, for both practical and financial reasons, we were unable to be very specific on when or even exactly what we were going to do. So over the course of several months, we came in 4 or 5 times (during your relocation none the less). Each time you showed us some new products, guided us through the benefits of certain choices relative to our needs and lifestyle, and most importantly, helped us remember what the heck we had decided we liked the last time! He did a wonderful job as did you on your before and after follow up; making sure that we were prepared, and then thoroughly pleased with the final result. We are!!! It’s perfect! Last but not least, I want to be clear about one thing: Though I prefer to use local and regional businesses, it’s not my only criteria in choosing. Price matters too. Your professional capability was far superior to that which I’ve experienced in the omnipresent “Big Box” stores (where ignorance of product and upping the sale often rule) but the quality and choice of your products were better as well and your prices very competitive. WOW! What an experience!! We cannot say enough about the Macadam laminate installers that worked on our kitchen. They were polite, communicative, and exacting in the installation. They said they’d be here at 8:00 AM and that they’d look after lifting of the old floor,repair of subfloor (squeaks etc.) laying new flooring and transitions, cleanup and haul-a-way of debris and be gone in one day . . . all without disrupting our routine. We couldn’t be more pleased. It was an agonizing decision for us to choose a floor for our remodel. The salesman, Zac, was so patient with us, and so informative, and so low pressure. The floor we chose is now installed, and it is gorgeous. We like it so much, that we’re planning on putting it on the floors in another part of our home. Prices were substantially lower than other quotes we received, but the service was definitely NOT discounted service. I will absolutely recommend Macadam to friends who are looking to replace floors. Also, tile prices were also substantially lower. When the flooring came in so much cheaper, I asked Zac to price our tile, and Macadam came in much cheaper. We already had our tile guy lined up, but that was OK. We just ordered through Macadam and our tiler picked up the tile at the wholesaler. This store is the go-to place. Ann

Ok…I loved how Eric of Macadam took charge of my remodel situation. Ed Garcia, the installer, was wonderful as well. Ed came in and transformed our floors from old and dull to a magnificent work of art. Oh, there were a few little bumps along the way but Ed fixed them and stood by his word and work. BRAVO to these guys!

My husband and I recently visited Macadam to check out the travertine for the backsplash in our kitchen. When we left we had also purchased carpeting and vinyl! The entire installation process went off without a hitch, which is essential when you are getting your house ready to sell. I attribute this to Zac at Macadam and his high-quality team of installers. Zac was extremely professional and easy to work with, and we feel we got the best prices in town.

We got a bid from one of the chains, but loved the personal service that Macadam gave us. Brenda zoomed in on exactly what we needed for our home, something informal, durable and attractive, in the hardwoods. The installers were just wonderful and came in and did their job, very courteous and extremely good at what they are doing. Jenny – I just wanted to say thanks for helping me with my new blinds. The whole experience was great from start to finish and I absolutely love how they look. Darren was also very helpful and very professional. Thanks again and I will definitely come back for future home improvement projects.

We would like to thank everyone involved with handling our home claim. When the loss occurred I was very reluctant to turn in a claim; ultimately it became our best option for getting our home back together. From our first call with KellyHarbour through the inspection with Paul Eymann and a follow up quality inspection by Dan Boone, Allstate did a great job changing our mindset for the better. We pray to never have another loss, although are much more confident that Allstate will take care of us.

We also want to thank and give raving reviews to Macadam Floor & Design, & D&D Home Interiors. We had been told prior to agreeing on utilizing Allstate’s program the repairs would take over a month to complete. This very impressive group of people had our home together in a little over two weeks.

One of our greatest concerns was having people we did not know in our home. To our amazement, we had no concerns leaving anyone unattended throughout this process. Thank you for this! Samir, I wanted to thank you for the great new Kraus carpet installed a couple of weeks ago. It is absolutely perfect; I love it!! The installer (Bob) was wonderful, and did a GREAT JOB. Thanks for your advice for a carpet best fit for a home with cats – I can tell already that my cats’ clawing will not damage the carpet as much as other carpet types. A year or two ago, you also put in tile floors for my three bathrooms by an outstanding tile installer – I’ve forgotten his name, but I believe he was Romanian – he worked very hard and efficiently – those floors, too, are perfect & I couldn’t be happier. I’ll keep your company in mind for all of my future business (I will be replacing at least one room with new carpeting within the next couple of years), and will refer you at every opportunity. I was reassured during the process that all remodeling would be done with careful consideration of my desires. Then Sergey the best tiler in the world came into my home. Macadam Floor is awesome! As you know we had alot of challenges and frustration with the original product. Through it all, Samir & the installers were great. Samir’s patience and ability to work through challenging situations is commendable! Jenny was wonderful & very helpful as we made our choice of flooring. The installation crew – Jason, Ken & Jake – all led by Scott were VERY professional, courteous and friendly! (and patient!!). We really enjoyed the installers. We could tell that they ejoyed their work and were true professionals. Throughout it all though, Samir was a rock! He was always quick to respond to problems, worked with an array of vendors and the installers to ensure timely resolution and always communicated well with us. Samir ensured our statisfaction was achieved and I know he went above and beyond to exceed our expectations – THANK YOU!! Everyone who has seen our floors has been full of praise for htem and we tell them – and anyone else looking for flooring about Macadam. We wish you the best in your business. Everyone did a great job, and the end product looks just like we had hoped. We are very happy with the product, the color selection as well as the installation. And, I must say, Pat was an absolute delight to work with. He is very thorough, and has a great sense of humor.
